For campers that are going into Grade 9 or Grade 10, we offer a program that not only offers development in leadership theory and skill-building but an opportunity to apply these new skills in a fun camp environment at De La Salle College School. Our Leadership Training Program is overseen by our most experienced camp staff, ensuring our young leaders are taught life skills like accountability, responsibility, work ethic, and teamwork while being immersed in a sports camp environment.
The Leadership Training Program is offered in two-week blocks, with a limited number of positions available in each session. During each program, LIT/CIT campers will spend time in the classroom learning how to lead, how to communicate, and how to thrive in a leadership position. Outside the classroom, LIT/CIT's will spend time in each camp stream we offer, working directly with younger campers and our coaches on how to lead activities, build a camp plan, and make a camper's experience as fun as possible. The goal with the Leadership Program is to develop a passion for education, athletics, and leadership to help guide young adults to successful high-school years and beyond.
Upon completion of Leadership Training, campers are encouraged to apply for a junior coach position for the following summer.
